Last night I went to meet Ann & Kay, the authors of Mason-Dixon Knitting and they were just as nice in real person as they seem to be on their blog.
It was so interesting to hear how they met (via a Rowan message board) and didn't actually meet each other until they were offered a book deal. So for over five years they emailed back and forth without actually meeting!
I was without knitting and Ann was so cute, she said she couldn't bear to see someone without knitting so she let me work on a scarf she's working on. I don't know the type of yarn it was, Ann couldn't remember, but it was the nicest yarn I've ever knit with. I'm guessing it was a silk wool blend. It was like buttah.
So of course I bought a copy of the book, and had the sign it, unfortunately, I forgot my camera so, alas no photos. They stayed after the even to hang out with those who stayed, but much to my chagrin I needed to get home to do laundry. :(
As of earlier this afternoon they'd not posted about the event, I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to say about it.
I finished a sock today, and I'm hoping to get a photo posted over the weekend.
